El Cajon sits in a valley surrounded by hills, and it traps heat. Summer afternoons here are regularly among the hottest in San Diego County's western half, so air conditioning isn't optional. Much of the housing is 1950s through 1970s single-family homes and apartments, with older ducts, aging AC units and attics that bake in the sun. Santa Ana winds and East County wildfires can also bring dust and smoke into the valley.
Sky Clean Air has been working in El Cajon since our early years in San Diego County. We repair and replace AC and heating systems, clean ducts and dryer vents, add attic insulation to cut the heat coming in from above, and help with air filtration. If your AC is struggling through July, we'll figure out whether it's the unit, the ducts or the attic before recommending anything.
What We See in El Cajon Homes
- Valley heat makes AC a must from summer into early fall.
- Hot attics make insulation one of the best upgrades here.
- Santa Ana winds and wildfire smoke affect indoor air quality.
